I have always loved Valentine’s Day. Not for the traditional romantic reasons, but because each February I look forward to brightening our home with cheery reds and pinks to pull us out of the winter blues!
Here are some festive years past…

I like to give my kids a small gift on each holiday, so for this Valentine’s Day, I stuck with tradition and gave them each an 11×14 stretched canvas.

If you saw my previous post 25 Buys in 2025 Challenge, you know that I committed to continuing decluttering and simplifying our home, as well as doing a shopping challenge. This is where I am only buying two items for myself and two items for our home each month.

On Thursday night after dinner, my younger three assembled their valentines.

I bought a value sized bag of heart-shaped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups for the kids to split, as well as a pack of paper airplane valentine cards. My boys have small class sizes (12 or less), while Naiya (high school) just wanted to get gifts for her closest friends.

I took zero part in this whole process, other than picking up and buying the supplies!

I love me a festive Valentine’s Day sweater! 😍 My February wardrobe purchase was this cute cropped sweater.
This Valentine’s Day was a bit out of sorts, as my girls left the house for a Leadership Breakfast, before I woke up! Instead, we had a festive breakfast the day after, when all of the kids were home. I decorated the breakfast table, laid out their gifts, and prepped a fun breakfast. On the menu was my most popular TATER TOT BREAKFAST EGG CASSEROLE, a bowl of berries, and muffins. Trader Joe’s gluten-free cinnamon coffee cake muffins are ELITE!

We also had a plus-one for breakfast, as my oldest had a friend sleepover.
Here’s the little touches of Valentine’s around our house…

…my office/piano room.

My little typewriter that says “You’re my type” makes me smile. 😍

Added to this year’s decor is a pottery whimsical treehouse sculpture by Naiya. Isn’t it so fun?! I love when my kids bring artwork home.

Keeping it simple in our main floor powder room.

Bright and cheery simplicity in our kitchen!

Our dining room buffet.

In our living room is this felt heart garland that I bought last year, it makes me so happy!

Our mudroom entrance has a little pop of pink and red.
That’s a little peek into how we celebrate Valentine’s Day! It may seem insignificant, but it brings me so much joy to celebrate the holidays throughout the year for my kids. I love even the simplest traditions of decorating our home and giving small gifts to make it special and fun.
