Fun for Life Mama | Shan Grossman

Noah, Spring · March 2, 2023

Noah is ELEVEN!

The first thing Noah said to me when I woke him up on his birthday was, “I’m finally a tween!”

How is this possible?! Make it stop!

Noah has been a mama’s boy since the very start. Having my first son was like experiencing having my first baby all over again! I had no idea becoming a boy mom would be such a unique experience, unlike any I’d ever known!

Noah is my homebody buddy, a boy after my own heart…our favorite mom-son bonding is to grab our own book and curl up on the sofa together. THE BEST!

The amount of hours this boy has clocked reading is out of this world. He is famous for “Did you know….?” statements. A few years back I thought to myself, “there’s no way this child knows this piece of information”, and so I started google fact checking him to make sure he wasn’t turning into a liar! He was in fact telling the whole truth, no detail spared. So much so, we played our own made up version of “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader” one night after dinner, Noah versus the rest of our family. I’m sure you can guess who won. No, we are NOT smarter than a fifth grader, as it turns out.

Noah was born on March 1, and was almost a Leap Year baby! Had I not received an epidural, he most definitely would have been born on February 29. So grateful that was not the case! I would not have liked choosing what day his birthday would be on each year!

ELEVEN!!!

Noah loves historical fiction books.

He loves history, especially the Civil War era.

His dream is to buy a sword from the civil war era.

He likes playing soccer and basketball.

He will ALWAYS fill in his free time with consuming books.

His favorite color is blue.

His bucket list vacation is going to Alaska.

His dream is to live somewhere wild and remote like Montana.

He loves coffee and can make a mean latte.

He has always enjoyed reading the bible and enjoys leading our “home church” on Sundays where we are unable to make it to church.

He is a master at diffusing a high stress atmosphere with a gentle tone and pat on the arm.

He loves the beauty of flowers and plants. He’s recently questioned why I have so many faux plants instead of live!

We are so proud to call Noah our son, he amazes us more and more each year. He is smart, gentle and adventurous. He brings so much joy to our home!

Happy Birthday, Noah Allen! We love you so much!
