I thought I’d share a little bit of our life lately over here.
The end of the school year is wrapping up and we can’t wait until summer is officially here! The boys are on their first full week of summer break, while the girls have nine more days to go. As I type this, the girls have already left for school (Lexi drives them) and the boys are still asleep. The boys and I have been making the most of our days off, lazily spending our mornings or afternoons off galavanting to all of our local faves for coffee and pastries…

…and snowcones. Nothing says summertime more than a snowcone. Especially because it’s one of the few treats I’ll give my nod of approval to even though it contains dye and corn syrup. #becausetraditions

The girls finished up their high school track season, which was another sweet year with an amazing team. We snapped a photo with Naiya’s outdoor 4×200 relay. This was Lexi’s first year and by the end of the season, she settled into the 400m, 800m and 4×400 relay.

Naiya unexpectedly received a team award for the female “Highest Point Producer” and our school started a new tradition this year, awarding athletes that lettered in three Varsity sports within a school year, with a “Master of Sports” plaque.

Lexi wasn’t able to attend the track banquet as she had her first day of club swim practice. So very proud of these girls!

Their high school track coach started a local club track team, which Naiya, along with her brothers are trying this spring/summer.

While the girls were busy closing out their season…

…the boys were starting up theirs.

Both Noah and Josiah have been competing in the 100m, 200m and long jump.

Josiah is also trying another new sport this spring, golf.

He’s loving it so far, and Ryan is excited to spend time with him at the golf course.

A new piece of adventure equipment is this small skiff boat, so now the kids can learn to drive a boat and in the future, go out on their own and explore or fish. Lexi is currently the only one out of the four of them with a boater’s license, but the rest have quickly lined up to get theirs as well.

Some Memorial Day fun at our brother- and sister-in-law’s house!

As always, this time of year we make our way to grad parties.

This year, we celebrate one of our favorites! Can’t wait to see what this next year looks like for him. 🤍

This time of year is birthday season for us! First up, we celebrated Lexi’s 17th birthday!

Next up, these two birthday twins. Naiya and her Uncle Ty’s birthday are two days apart, so they’ve been sharing family birthdays since the beginning. So sweet.
Tomorrow we celebrate Naiya’s 16th birthday! 🎉

Wrapping up this fun, busy, incredibly exhausting month, I’ll introduce you to one of our two new barn cats, Luna. She is social and likes to be near people, but is not to be trusted as the friendly cat that you snuggle with, lest you wind up with scratches on one of your limbs. In the past two weeks she has come up to the house (her “bed” is in the barn) stalking me for food. And then just last night, I heard her meowing near the house again (at 1:30am), but it sounded so loud, almost as if she was inside the house. So I got up and went downstairs to find out where she actually was and came down to one of the back doors being wide open. Long story short, she had made her way inside and after I got Ryan to catch her, she came sauntering down the stairs. After 10 minutes of Ryan tussling with Luna (I’m talking furniture turned over), he put her back outside and told me, “I took care of it”. This farm life never ceases to be an adventure.
I’m off to the store this morning, because it never fails, that as soon as the boys are off school I forfeit the responsibility to keep our house stocked with lunch supplies. I have no idea what the girls packed in their lunch, but suffice it to say, we’re limping across the finish line as it pertains to that!
That’s a little life lately at the Grossman house. Have a great weekend! xoxo
