Happy Friday, friends! I can’t believe another week has flown by and we’re almost to the end of January! I have been busy this month getting my house reset, minimalized and organized. My mantra I keep telling myself and the kids is…”everything needs a home”. There’s lots of purging going on in the process…ruthless purging.
I’ve been tackling our master closet, toy storage, games/puzzles and our walk-in pantry. It feels really good to have these spaces cleaned out and organized, and it’s made cleanup each day much easier. It also allows the kids a more simple process of putting things away, since everything has a “home”.
January is also a month that I like to decorate for winter. Since Christmas reds and greens are put away, I gravitate towards blues and decorate with a “snow day” theme. You’ll find navy, light blues and whites around the house this time of year. A few years ago, a friend gave me Mrs. Meyer’s hand soap and counter spray in snowdrop scent, and it’s the perfect scent and color combo for January!
Today, I’m sharing my amazon finds this month, and it’s all about Home and Decor, plus Organizing!

Here’s a look at all of these items in action…
one. Gold snow pinecones // I LOVE these pinecones! They are the perfect size assortment, does not scream “CHRISTMAS!”, and the gold is so cute! After Christmas, I like having winter decor to make our home still feel cozy, but not festive. So pinecones, undecorated faux greenery with warm, white lights, and vanilla candles burning, are what you’ll find here in January.
two. Velvet corduroy throw pillow cover // These pillow covers are my favorite! Plus, they come in a set! They look way more expensive than they really are. I bought these in red for Christmas, and loved them so much I got them in navy for the rest of the year! I have the size 20″ x 20″.
three. Down pillow insert // These are the perfect inserts for my pillow covers. I always order one size up from the pillow cover they are going into. Comes in a set of two, and I bought the size 22″ x 22″ to go into my 20″ x 20″ pillow covers. They are great for the fluff-and-chop method!
four. Plastic divided purse organizer // It is so nice to have my clutches and large wallets neatly on my closet shelf now! I can see what I have and it aesthetically is appealing and makes my closet feel less chaotic!
five. Seagrass wicker baskets // This comes as a set of two. I used this in my master closet for both Ryan’s side and mine to house an assortment of stuff. In one basket, I have my ski gloves and ski socks, so they don’t get lost in the shuffle of my everyday ones. In a second basket, I put winter beanies and my wool base layers. And I left the third basket to house any random, miscellaneous items that collects.
six. Turkish hand towels // I put these in our powder room on the main floor. I love the light blue color, and they look so pretty! However, they are not the most absorbent material, but I don’t mind! Plus, they have an assortment of colors and comes in a set of two.
seven. Photo organizer case // I am probably the most excited about this one! It’s genius! I ordered this to store all of our card games. I was so tired of cards not being put away, or being thrown into a drawer and mixed together with other card games, etc. This item is actually intended for 4 x 6″ photos, but instead I’m using it to organize and store all of our card games. It is much easier for our kids to throw the game in one of the cases, rather than trying to shove them into a small cardboard box. This holds up to 16 games or deck of cards, and then they all get stored in one big carrying case. Easy peasy! I have yet to see any cards laying around!
eight. Jewelry organizer stand // This jewelry stand is super simple, nothing fancy, but does the job and looks pretty. I keep it in my closet and use it for my everyday jewelry. I’m thinking it would be perfect for my girls, too!
nine. Large stackable plastic storage box with lid // When I decided to do an overhaul of organizing this new year, I knew I wanted to get the toys in order. Throw away what is broken or has too many missing pieces, donate what the kids don’t use anymore, and organize their favorites in clear, stacking boxes so that they’re easily accessible and the kids can see what is what. I love that these stack, making for an appealing visual. It has made cleanup so much easier and efficient. Everything has a home! This one is a bit larger (I also have the smaller version of this), so it easily stores larger toys like Lincoln Logs and the boys’ overabundance of legos.
ten. Three tier can organizer // I’m not sure why I haven’t used one of these before, but it’s been a great addition to our walk-in pantry. I’m pretty serious about keeping my pantries organized, especially with our walk-in, because it currently is open to the kitchen. But, I normally stack my canned good (three cans high), so I don’t know what it is even in there half the time. But now, I can take a quick glance and know what I have! I bought two of them and they fit perfectly on my 11″ depth shelf.
eleven. Plastic trays // These are my new best friend. Up until now, my kids have been using aluminum sheet pans for when they use paint, beads, glitter, model clay, kinetic sand, playdough, you name it! I normally shove one of these under any crafting sessions that happen when friends or family are over. They also were using them to contain lego sets, so they don’t lose pieces. But those left marks on my white counters AND we used them for baking, so it kind of weirded me out knowing I was roasting veggies on the same pan glitter and acrylic paint were covering. So these plastic trays are the perfect replacement! They come in a set of four.
twelve. Small stackable storage box with lid // These stacking boxes are the smaller version of the large one I mentioned earlier, they have been a great solution for paint/trays, each kid’s lego set (I put the instruction booklet in each box), kinetic sand kit plus tools, playdough plus accessories, and more! Again, I love that the boxes are clear and stackable, so the kids can see what there is, take it out and put it away by themselves! Comes in a set of two, I bought them in clear, size 5.6 x 6.7 x 3.
That’s it! Thank you amazon for helping me get my house organized for 2022!
Have a great weekend! See you all on Monday! xoxo
