Ryan and I made it home from Napa, safe and sound, last night. It was serene and memorable, but I was ready to be home and enjoy our summer break with the kids!
I put together some of my favorite things that I wore on our trip to wine country. Some pieces new, some old, but I’m linking to all!
But first, the view from our room…
The first evening in Napa was the welcome dinner for Ryan’s work conference, hosted at the Village Lawn of our hotel, Vista Collina Resort in Napa Valley, California.
This area of our resort is where a breakfast and lunch buffet was served each day, just a short walk from our room. It is also where we would head first thing in the morning (since we were waking up extra early because of the time change), and sit and talk over a morning cup of coffee…
I’ll break down what I wore on the first night to our “wine country casual” welcome dinner…
This outfit was a mix of items old and new from Madewell and Target. This ruffle smocked top is no longer available in cream striped, but there are still options available in black, light purple, and burgundy. My go-to white jeans are from Madewell (because they come in petite sizes), which I am loving the high-waist to feel all sucked in and covered up. My braided slide sandals are here. I bought this cute etched coin necklace set in “vintage gold” (separate pieces) for this trip, and I love them both! I wear them seperately, but they are adjustable and have such an antique look about them! Another new item I took along with me on this trip was this neutral watch band, (in color “milk tea”). It was perfect to go with any and all outfits, dressy and casual alike, plus it matched my slides! (I will say that the closure for this watch was a bit fussy, as compared to a true apple watch sport band, BUT it was worth it to have this perfect pinkish, nude color that went with everything and was waterproof for afternoons at the pool).
Our hotel had their own vineyard and garden, so one morning we took a sunrise hike and explored the hillside. The sprinkler system and maintenance to keep up seemed insane!
On Tuesday evening, we went to our regional dinner (we knew most everyone attending this smaller event) hosted at Tre Posti in St. Helena. We were greeted with glasses of wine and an immaculate garden that smelled of honeysuckle. We spent most of the cocktail hour by the fresh mozzarella-making station. Upon our requests to know how we could recreate this at-home, we were told the process is pretty straight-forward, but our trouble would lay in finding a source for the curds. Oh well.
The walkway to our dinner from the garden felt so magical…
This little dining area was so charming, and the view was spectacular at sunset…
The breakdown of what I wore to this regional dinner…
I LOVED this off-the-shoulder maxi dress (B-yellow) from Amazon. It was comfy, flowy, and affordable! There is a liner that comes to just above the knee, so it’s not see through in the places that need covering. It comes in other colors as well. My gold bead bracelets are a favorite, as well. I wore these gold hoops for most of the trip. I wear this gold choker necklace pretty much every day at home (15″ length). You can’t see them, but my sandals are a new favorite! I first bought a pair of these ankle strap sandals for Alexia for her graduation ceremony, because she didn’t want a high heel. After trying them on and realizing how comfortable they are, I bought myself a pair! I’m always on the lookout for comfortable, cute, and wide-width sandals. I love this Seychelles brand! They are the softest leather sandal with the cutest 1.25″ wedge heel (in color “peach” – which is a pinkish-nude – rather than peach).
This year’s gala had a Roaring Twenties theme. It was so fun to see all of the festive evening wear. This is the evening where I get to cheer loud and proud for my man and all that he accomplished in the last year! I love a good theme and it made the evening so much more lively and not stuffy, as some formal events can feel…
We called it a night and made our way back to our room. Like a gatsby gentleman, he even let me borrow his coat for the walk back 😉…
Our last breakfast in Napa had an omelette bar, and you better believe I was one of the first in line! Breakfast is my favorite…
Each afternoon was spent at the resort pool, either reading my new kindle paperwhite (which I’m learning to navigate), taking a nap on the lounge chair, or sipping a jalapeño cucumber cocktail while chatting with friends in the pool. For the record, we failed to apply sunscreen adequately and unfortunately came home with sufficient sunburns. Argh.
My final favorites are what I wore to the pool every.single.day. No rotations on this trip, just kept it simple and went with what I loved…
This straw hat (in color “natural”) had more sun coverage (more than my other fedora), but has the feel of a mix of a fedora and ranch hat. It is no longer available at Madewell, but you can find this same hat here or here. This coverup (in White-thick) was so soft and had the fit of more expensive brands, it was lightweight but not completely see through. It comes in so many other colors! These spiral hair ties (in small, color “leopard”) were perfect for the pool and keeping my hair from getting kinks in it, to prolong having to wash it and curl again. My leather tote is no longer sold, but here is a similar version in black leather, or another cute option is this textured gray tote, or here is a bright and cheery option for summer! These tote options all come from a local shop called Main + Mango, in Annapolis, Maryland, owned by a friend of mine, Shannon Reisenfeld. We met because our daughters were friends when we used to lived in Annapolis. Main + Mango sells the cutest artisan-made fashion and home decor. It’s like walking through local boutiques from around the globe.
That’s a wrap for my Napa recap and Friday Favorites!
Today, we hit the ground running to the girls’ soccer tournament, where we’ll stay overnight in a hotel and play an early game Sunday morning and hopefully in the afternoon championships. I’m looking forward to being together as a family again and am especially excited to settle in to our summer routine next week!
Hope you have a great weekend! xoxo
